AI Automation is Threatening Job Markets in Pakistan, UAE And Several Other Countries

AI-based automation is on the rise and is impacting each country differently. In the Middle East, Iran, Jordan and Egypt will face major challenges due to the automation of AI-related tasks.

According to the International Labor Organization (ILO) Bizreport and Willrobotstakemyjob.com, workers in Bhutan, Pakistan and India will see increased role automation in Asia.

To cope with these changes, these countries must prioritize upgrading the skills of their workforce to adapt to rapid technological advances.

Goldman Sachs has predicted that AI could put 300 million workers out of work. Meanwhile, Bizreport estimates that around 64% of the global workforce is at risk of being impacted by AI automation.

The United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries are turning to AI to automate various roles. Cisco’s Oussama Al-Zoubi highlighted the growing demand for end-to-end automation and visibility solutions.

In the Middle East, digital transformation and network reliability are critical. IT teams are now prioritizing security, agility and business performance over network and cost management.

Al Jazeera bank in Saudi Arabia is an example of successful AI automation. By using the cloud-native AI system Automation Anywhere, more than 60,000 hours of manual labor have been saved, thereby improving profitability.

Faisal Al Rashoudi, head of automation and robotics at Bank Al Jazeera, explained how intelligent automation improves operational efficiencies and allows employees to focus on creating better customer value.

Globally, countries like Zambia, Bhutan, Angola, Armenia and Pakistan will be hit the hardest by AI automation, while Singapore, Panama, Slovakia, Botswana and Trinidad and Tobago are expected to be the least affected, according to bizreport data.
