George Cardenas is a Phoenix teacher arrested for an alleged relationship with a high school student.
A woman called Thursday, police said, who said she had sex with Cardenas when she was a 16-year-old student at North High School.
In an interview, the woman said she started her relationship with Cárdenas in February 2012 when she was in her third year of high school.
The victim informed authorities that she finally moved in with Cárdenas two weeks before her 18th birthday.
As per him, their meetings took place in the house of Cárdenas during their relationship, which lasted until 2017.

The woman told Phoenix Police she started a relationship with then 25-year-old George Cardenas in February 2012 at the age of 16 and a freshman at North High School, ABC 15 reported.
He said he moved in with Cárdenas two weeks before his 18th birthday and their relationship lasted until 2017 when they split and moved.
KTVK reported that the now 26-year-old woman said Cárdenas would pick her up after school and drive her to her home in Tempe, where they had sex early in their relationship. She said the two had sex every day during their junior and senior years, including several times in their North High School class.
The victim said Cárdenas made a video of them having sex at least once and often took pictures of them spending time together. It provided researchers with hundreds of pages of digital conversations between the two, some of which were sexually suggestive.
In a conversation on January 9, 2013, Cárdenas called the victim his ‘girlfriend’ and told her that he loved her.
George Cardenas Arrested For Alleged Relationship With High School Student
As per the Maricopa County Jail records, Cárdenas, now 35, was charged with sexual abuse and sentenced to 100,000 USD bail.
ABC15 said Cardenas is listed as a science and technology teacher at Wilson College Prep, as per the Phoenix Union High School District website which was later deleted. The site also said Cárdenas won several awards, including the 2018 District Teacher of the Year award.
The district announced in a statement that Cárdenas was “currently on leave”.
Cárdenas is due in court on 16th September.
