Missing Florida Mother Perrin Damron Found Dead
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday that Perrin Damron, 23, last died on the night of 19th January.
“His death will be treated as murder and will be stopped in the case,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
“This investigation is still very active and the information is still being processed.”
Who Are The Suspects To Be Arrested?
About two hours later, the sheriff’s office confirmed that the arrested suspect was Eric William Westergard, 45, of Jupiter Farms.
Eric Westergard was arrested around 1:30 a.m. Since Monday.
The sheriff’s office said Damron was due to meet her two-year-old’s father on Saturday, but the man worried when she didn’t show up.
He’s been babysitting the boy since Friday, the sheriff said.
Damron’s family told investigators it was ‘improper’ to stand up to a friend and file a missing person report.
When the sheriff saw that the woman’s vehicle was held responsible, he asked anyone who saw her call 911 immediately.
What Police Have Investigated Up Till Now?
Investigators soon learned that Damron had been seen with Westergard, whom Sheriff William Snyder described as a friend of Damron’s mother.
At a press conference on Monday, Snyder said his office was “very suspicious” of Westergard “from the start” of the investigation, noting that the man-made several incriminating statements after officers found physical evidence at his home of a crime.
Snyder declined to elaborate on what this evidence was or how it linked Westergard to Damron’s murder, saying the investigation was still ongoing.
An early disruption to the case came when detectives received video evidence from a ring doorbell camera allegedly showing Westergard near Damron’s home after picking them up from the residence, authorities said.
Snyder asked anyone with a possible video of Westergard and Damron to provide photos to their office and said, “Every piece of evidence counts.”
