The Multan Sultans scored a comfortable 8-wicket win against Peshawar Zalmi and continued their way into the top 4 of the PSL points table. Peshawar, on the other hand, is in a precarious position after losing in the fourth game of the tournament.
Peshawar’s line-up fell short of his usual expectations, fluctuating to an acceptable grand total of 166/7.
Young pacemaker, Shahnawaz Dahani, grabbed four wickets in a nine-ball room to claim Zalmi’s hitting drive and helped the Sultans keep it down to a low sum.
Multan captain Mohammad Rizwan recorded his 10th half-century in 2021 and along with Sohaib Maqsood helped Multan comfortably pursue the goal. Dahani was named Man of the Match for his extraordinary bowling spell.
Peshawar and Multan will fight for a stronghold for the fourth playoff spot. Peshawar is currently third on the PSL scoring table, while Multan is fifth with four points on the board. Peshawar ousted Quetta in yesterday’s game and will try to name an unchanged starting XI.
Though they could rest Mohammad Irfan after the 39-year-old played two games in a row. Multan was also exceptional in their previous encounter, beating a strong side from Karachi. Multan should also come into the field with the same team.
