Microsoft releases a new Preview Windows 10 KB5003214 Cumulative Update for 20H1, 20H2, and 21H1 users with tons of fixes

Microsoft has released Windows 10 KB5003214 Preview for versions 21H1, 20H2, and 2004 with build numbers 19043.1023, 19042.1023, and 19041.1023, respectively.

To install this latest cumulative update,

  • Go to Settings>Update & Security> Windows Update.
  • Under Optional Updates, find the link to download and install the update.
  • To get the stand-alone package for this Windows 10 update, go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website.

The update is the same for all three versions of Windows 10.

Here are the highlights of Windows 10 update KB5003214 for versions 21H1, 20H2, and 2004:

  • System tray messages and interests are now available to anyone installing this update!
  • Improves the experience with messages and interests to prevent accidental opening.
  • Adds Open On Hover to the Messages and Interests menu (on by default). To access it, right-click an empty space on the Windows system tray and open the Messages and Interests menu.
  • Updates an issue that could prevent users from opening phone apps pinned to the system tray. This problem occurs after you upgrade to Windows 10 version 2004 and then use the Your Phone app.
  • Updates an issue that prevents a touch device from acting as a serial mouse in multiple monitor situations.
  • Updates an issue where items may appear on the desktop after they have been deleted from the desktop.
  • Updates a bug that could cause the video to fail when switching from an external high dynamic range (HDR) display to an integrated non-HDR display.
  • Updates an issue where the spatial audio effect is not applied to sounds when you enable spatial audio.
  • Updates a noise issue when you enable spatial audio and use USB Bluetooth headphones.
