2021 BBMA Music Awards, LA
Dick Clark Productions and NBC today announced that the Billboard Music Awards 2021 (BBMA) will air live on Sunday, May 23rd at 8 pm ET. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT on NBC. More details on the production of the show will be announced at a later date.
This year’s awards are based on the ranking period from March 21, 2020, to April 3, 2021. The finalists and winners of the “Billboard Music Awards” are based on key interactions of fans with music, including sales of digital albums and songs, streaming, Broadcasting, and social engagement tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including MRC Data.
The categories chosen by the fans include Best Social Artist and Best Collaboration.
For nearly 30 years, the BBMAs have celebrated the greatest hits in music and honored the hottest names in music today.
The winners are unique among music awards and are determined by their performance on the Billboard charts, ultimate authority, and measure of success in music.
The annual live stream features spectacular performances, unexpected collaborations, pop culture moments that keep fans entertained year-round, and the prestigious ICON Award, which honors record-breaking artists and their impact on music.
The “Billboard Music Awards 2020″ was broadcast on October 14th at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and delighted the audience with an unforgettable evening with a dazzling opening act by the triple presenter Kelly Clarkson, a spectacular performance full of pyro by Post Malone, a world premiere of Demi Lovato’s ‘Commander in Chief‘ and a moving performance by John Legend.
The evening also featured a number of iconic moments: Cher presented Garth Brooks with the Elite Icon Award; Rapper and social activist Killer Mike received the first Billboard Change Maker Award, which honors an artist or band who speaks the truth about power through their music, fame, and community. and Post Malone swept through the night, winning a total of nine awards.
The Billboard Music Awards 2021 nominees and winners are based on key fan interactions with music, including digital album and song sales, streaming, radio broadcast, touring, and community engagement, tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including MRC Data.
Since 1940, the Billboard charts have been the guide for ranking the popularity of artists, songs, and albums, and the ultimate measure of success in music.
The “Billboard Music Awards 2021″ are produced by Dick Clark Productions.

Billboard Music Awards 2021 Winners List
Nick Jonas will host this year’s show, which will be broadcast live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. CET. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT on NBC, featuring performances by BTS, Bad Bunny, Karol G, Twenty-One Pilots, DJ Khaled, H.E.R., Migos, and others.
The Weeknd led the field with the most nominations this year and received a total of 16 nods, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, and Top Streaming Song Artist.
Other finalists are DaBaby with 11, Gabby Barrett with 9, and Pop Smoke with 10 posthumous nominations.
