Sania Nishtar shared a report from the World Bank in her message on the microblogging website yesterday that the main financial institution ranked Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program among the top four social protection measures in the world in terms of the number of people insured.

“Pakistan ranks third in the world in terms of percentage of the population covered,” Nishtar said.
The World Bank released a report on global social protection responses to Covid-19 on Saturday entitled “Living Document“, which is 650 pages long and has an associated database documenting how countries and territories are implementing social protection measures in the US plan, implement or complete land. Context of the pandemic.
The report shows that between March 20, 2020, and May 14, 2021, a total of 3,333 social protection interventions were planned or implemented in 222 countries or areas.

Pakistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of the number of people insured and third in terms of the percentage of the insured population among those who cover more than 100 million people.
The World Bank has stated that only “selected countries have reached an impressive six-figure level” in this regard. Ehsaas emergency cash program from Pakistan is one of them.
