According to Pakistani government officials, the world’s largest online shopping platform, “Amazon“, will add Pakistan to the list of sellers in the coming days.
US retail giant Amazon officially added Pakistan to its approved seller’s list, opening a huge window of opportunity for e-commerce in the country. Pakistani sellers can now officially create Amazon IDs and sell their products on the global platform.
The advisor to trade and investment premier Abdul Razak Dawood confirmed in a tweet that Pakistani officials have been in contact with Amazon for a year, after which the move was now possible. Regarding Amazon’s arrival, he added that it will benefit young people, small businesses, and women.

Prior to Razzaq Dawood’s statement on Thursday, Dr. Shahbaz Gill, spokesman and special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan, in a tweet that the current government has done what it has not been able to do in Pakistan for the past 10 years to add Pakistan in the Amazon sellers list.

When the name was added to Amazon’s list of sellers, Shahbaz Gil said it added Pakistan to the global market. The Prime Minister’s spokesman thanked Imran Khan and said that Amazon’s listing would create investment and employment opportunities in Pakistan.
