American business magnate and well-known personality Bill Gates and his wife Melinda announced their divorce on Monday.
The announcement came via a tweet that Bill and Melinda shared from their separate accounts.
The couple said they made that decision “after having thought and worked hard on our relationship“.

Melinda also confirmed this divorce by her personal Twitter account.

The couple has been married since 1994 and ended their relationship after 27 years.
Bill Gates, software developer, investor, author, and philanthropist, is a co-founder of Microsoft Corporation.

According to a Forbes poll from 2021, 65-year-old Bill Gates has a net worth of $130 billion.
Melinda Ann Gates, an American philanthropist and former CEO of Microsoft, co-founded the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation with her husband in 2000.
Melinda Gates Foundation is the world’s largest private charity in 2015.
Melinda was born on August 15, 1964, in Dallas, Texas. She is now 56 years old and has three children from her marriage to Bill Gates: Rory John Gates, Phoebe Adele Gates, and Jennifer Katharine Gates.
Melinda is also the author of The Moment of Push: How Women’s Empowerment Changes the World.
