SED Punjab Introduces Facial Recognition Security in Schools

The Punjab Education Department has unveiled a plan to set up high-tech monitoring systems in schools across the province to increase security. Officials say that cameras will be installed at school entrances to keep track of who comes and goes, using facial recognition technology to identify students, teachers, and visitors.

School officials will get daily updates from these systems, which should help them keep a closer eye on campus activities. The new setup is meant to stop unauthorized entries, theft, and vandalism while creating a safer place for students.

Besides, the cameras will cover important spots like hallways, playgrounds, and doors. In emergencies, the system will send live updates to the authorities so they can react quickly.

In Lahore and other big cities where schools have many students, officials believe this move will make campus security much better.
