Punjab is going to establish Pakistan’s first artificial intelligence (AI) university, offering programs in AI, robotics, machine learning, and other advanced fields. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz shared this milestone announcement on Thursday during the launch of a laptop distribution scheme in Faisalabad.

Addressing the audience, she emphasized the need for students to stay competitive on a global scale. “Our students should thrive in every domain and never fall behind,” she said.

The Chief Minister also unveiled a student loan initiative that will distribute up to Rs. 30 million for education, part-time work, or business ventures. Additionally, free land will be allocated to help young entrepreneurs establish their businesses and contribute to the economy.

Plans are in place to increase laptop distribution from 30,000 this year to 50,000 next year, backed by an expanded provincial budget. Scholarships for students in their third and fourth years are also on the horizon. The laptop scheme will provide 100,000 laptops to students achieving over 65% in public universities and colleges.
