Saudi Arabia Introduces Stricter Health Protocols for 2025 Umrah Pilgrims

Saudi Arabia is implementing stricter health protocols for Umrah pilgrims in 2025. The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority requires vaccinations for meningococcal meningitis, polio, yellow fever, COVID-19, and seasonal flu.

Pilgrims from polio-affected countries, like Pakistan, Nigeria, and Afghanistan, must also receive polio vaccinations, while those from Angola, Nigeria, Brazil, and Congo need yellow fever shots. COVID-19 and flu vaccines are mandatory as per WHO recommendations.

Pilgrims must carry vaccination certificates and medical records if needed. To prevent mosquito-borne diseases, protective clothing and insect repellents are recommended.
