UAE Consul General Reaffirms Strong Ties with Pakistan, Dismisses Visa Concerns

The UAE Consul General in Karachi, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Rumaithi, has dismissed rumors about Pakistanis facing visa denials, emphasizing the UAE’s commitment to its strong relationship with Pakistan.

At the launch of Emirates World in Karachi, Dr. Al Rumaithi made it clear that there are no restrictions on issuing visas to Pakistani citizens.

Recent reports had suggested that some Pakistanis were being denied visas, sparking fears of policy changes. There were even rumors that the UAE was limiting work visas to only highly skilled workers. Dr. Al Rumaithi’s statement reassured everyone that the UAE remains open to Pakistan.

On the economic front, Dr. Al Rumaithi shared that talks for a free trade agreement (FTA) between the UAE and Pakistan are nearing completion. This deal, once signed, is expected to boost trade by reducing import duties on several products.

As Pakistan’s third-largest trade partner, the UAE sees significant potential for even more collaboration. Dr. Al Rumaithi also mentioned that UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salim Alzaab is working closely with Pakistan’s business community to further strengthen the ties between the two countries.
