Weather forecasters are predicting clear and dry conditions across most regions of the country come election day on February 8.
According to experts, there is little chance of significant rainfall disrupting the electoral process on that day. However, there may be slight precipitation in the western areas of Sindh and Balochistan on February 7, the day before the election.
2024 Election Weather Forecast: What to Expect on Polling Day, Feb 8?
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has assured that any rain activity is expected to dissipate within 24 hours, following light to moderate showers in certain areas of Punjab and Balochistan. He anticipates dry weather for most parts of the country on election day.
Sarfaraz made these forecasts in light of the recent heavy rainfall that afflicted Karachi for the second consecutive day, leaving several areas submerged in water. You can also check the Election Duty List 2024 Of Polling Officers.
Areas like North Karachi, Superhighway, Bufferzone, Nagan Chowrangi, Saadi Town, North Naziabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, New MA Jinnah Road, Nazimabad, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Shah Faisal Scheme 33, among others, experienced heavy to moderate rainfall.
The Meteorological Office reported the presence of nimbus clouds in central and northern parts of the city, resulting in intermittent showers.
This rainfall pattern, continuing into the evening, marks a rare occurrence for Karachi in February, with such prolonged precipitation not seen in the city for over four decades.

The heavy rains caused extended power outages in several areas, while sewage mixed with rainwater overflowed from clogged drains, entering residential homes and hospitals, exacerbating the situation in the port city.
