The UAE Announce Easy 30-day Visa Extension Via Mobile App

The UAE government has introduced a new simplified visit visa extension process, making it easier for family members or friends of residents to extend their stay in the country.

The Federal Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security Authority (ICP) now allows visa holders to extend their stay by 30 days. This can be done simply by paying a fee of AED750 through the UAEICP smart app.

To apply for the visa extension, visitors to the UAE must be physically present and hold a passport that is valid for at least six months. Documents required for the extension include the original entry permit and a personal color photograph that meets certain standards.

As part of the application process, it is mandatory to provide truthful and complete information and documents.

Incomplete or missing information will lead to an electronic rejection after 30 days. If an application is denied three times, it will be definitively denied. Refunds for rejected applications only cover shipping costs and financial guarantees provided.

Refunds are processed within six months of the application date and can be made via credit card payment. Banks based in the UAE also offer the option of repayment by check or bank transfer, which can be used within a maximum period of five years.

ICP has gone to great lengths to simplify the process of extending a visit visa for family or friends through its easy-to-use mobile application.

When granting a visit visa for a family member or friend, certain requirements must be met, including proof of relationship and the reasons for the visit.

For example, if a foreign wife is planning to visit her husband who is a citizen of the Gulf Cooperation Council, she must have a valid residency permit in her husband’s country.
