All iPhones Will Get Big Battery Upgrades This Year

A recent rumor from an alleged “insider” from a Foxconn factory in China suggests that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 lineup will feature significant battery capacity improvements. All four models should benefit from these improvements.

The iPhone 15 is rumored to have a 3877mAh capacity battery, while the iPhone 15 Plus is expected to have a larger 4912mAh battery. The iPhone 15 Pro is rumored to come with a 3650mAh battery, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max is said to come with an even larger capacity of 4852mAh. These are all significant improvements in battery capacity.

For comparison, note that the iPhone 14 comes with a 3,279mAh battery, while the iPhone 14 Plus has a larger 4,323mAh battery. The iPhone 14 Pro has a 3200mAh capacity and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the Plus model with a 4323mAh battery.

Should these rumors prove true, it stands to reason that Apple devices will perform exceptionally well on battery tests. This would be the first time an iPhone has hit the 5,000mAh mark. Given Apple’s proven track record of optimizing its homegrown chips, the battery life of all of these devices should be exceptional.

According to a previous rumor, it was speculated that this year’s iPhones will be slightly thicker compared to their predecessors. This makes sense as all iPhones should also have larger batteries.

Another Weibo rumor, often dubbed the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, says the base storage option for the iPhone 15 Pro will be 256GB, doubling the current 128GB capacity to differentiate between Pro models and non-Pro variants, as the latter is expected to maintain the base storage configuration of 128GB.
