Saudi Arabia Facilitates Umrah Travel With New E-Visas

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has started issuing Umrah electronic visas (e-Visas) to make it easier for more Muslims to travel to Saudi Arabia and perform the Hajj. The initiative is in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.

To apply for an e-visa, individuals can now submit their applications through the Nusuk platform website. Once approved, they can begin their journey and arrive in the Kingdom on July 19.

The Nusuk platform serves as a gateway for Muslims, offering a range of services such as accommodation options, transportation support, and access to information resources and interactive maps in multiple languages. Streamlines the arrival process for those wishing to visit Mecca and Medina.

In cooperation with relevant authorities, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has also announced that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) tourist visa and Schengen visa holders can now book appointments for Umrah from Nusuk.

To further improve the overall experience of Umrah pilgrims, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has introduced new laws. This includes reducing insurance costs by 63% while maintaining quality health care for Umrah artists.

Umrah visa issuance has been accelerated to less than 24 hours and the visa validity period has been extended from 30 to 90 days with no special health requirements.

Also, updated procedures now allow women to perform Umrah without a male guardian (Mahram). In addition, Umrah pilgrims can now explore the Kingdom’s various cultural sites.
