Federal Govt Announced Decision On Load Shedding During Eid Al-Adha
According to a recent report, the federal government has announced that there will be no load shedding during the Eid-ul-Adha holiday. The Department of Energy has requested electricity generation and consumption data from distribution companies to support this decision.
If the government comes to terms with this, it will bring relief to citizens who have suffered prolonged power outages amid intense heat. Electricity distribution companies reported a deficit of 6,300 megawatts.
Total electricity demand is currently 26,900 megawatts, while total generation is only 20,600 megawatts. The national grid produces 7,900 megawatts of electricity, and independent power generators contribute another 7,700 megawatts.
However, it should be noted that the electricity production of nuclear power plants only reaches 3,130 megawatts, which aggravates the existing crisis.
