Flights From Dubai To Saudi Arabia For Hajj Begin Next Week
The first Hajj flight with pilgrims from Dubai to Saudi Arabia is scheduled to take off on June 22nd, followed two days later by a second flight.
Mohammed Al Marzouqi, head of commercial terminal support and head of Dubai Airports Hajj Committee, explained that they work with four airlines, including two from Dubai and two from Saudi Arabia.
Partners include airlines such as Emirates, Flydubai, Flynas, and Saudia. A total of 3,100 Emiratis will depart from Dubai International Airport (DXB) for the Hajj, along with a significant number of expatriates from the United Arab Emirates.
Al Mazrouqi explained that Dubai airports do not control the data of non-Emiratis traveling for the Hajj as they are reportedly regular passengers traveling to Saudi Arabia and not Hajj pilgrims.
The official went on to say that the Saudi authorities have lifted all travel restrictions imposed for the Hajj two years ago. One is prepared for heavy traffic in this regard, he said.
Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia rolled out e-visas for the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, and Indonesia. This action increases the amount of incoming traffic.
DXB has also introduced a number of facilities to improve business during the Hajj season. For Hajj flights, this includes dedicated boarding gates, expedited passport control and security procedures, and dedicated check-in desks.
