Budget 2023-24: Federal Cabinet Approves Salary Increase Of Up To 35% For Govt Employees
The federal government approved a massive wage increase for govt. employees in a bid to curb runaway inflation.
The cabinet gave the green light in a session chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ahead of the budget for the fiscal year 2023-23, which was presented in the National Assembly today (Friday).
The Treasury Secretary in his budget speech approved a 35% pay rise for employees in grades 1 to 16, while a 35% pay rise was approved for civil servants in grades 17 and above.

The government also approved a 17.5% increase in pensions for retired civil servants.
