Rania al Yassin was born on 31st August 1970 in Kuwait to Palestinian parents. Rania and her two brothers grew up in the West Bank city of Tulkarem, where their father worked as a doctor. He attended the New English School in Kuwait before attending American University in Cairo, Egypt in 1991, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Rania’s family was forced to evacuate Kuwait along with hundreds of other Palestinian families during the first Gulf War in 1991. They moved to Amman, Jordan, where Rania eventually joined them after completing her university studies.
