UAE Announces Basic Guidelines For Muslim Residents Regarding Eid Al-Fitr

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has urged Muslim residents to keep an eye out for the crescent moon on Thursday evening, which will mark the start of Eid Al-Fitr (1st Shawwal) in the country.

The country’s moon sighting committee has issued guidelines that those who see the crescent moon should call 026921166 so they can provide evidence to the nearest court and determine the date of the sighting.

Muslims in the Emirates are eagerly awaiting the sighting of the crescent moon that will determine the date of Eid Al-Fitr. If the moon is visible on Thursday, April 20th, Eid will begin on Friday, April 21st.

However, when the moon is not visible, Eid falls on Saturday, April 22nd. UAE residents have a four or five-day break depending on the date of the moon sighting.

When Eid begins on Friday, residents have a four-day break Thursday through Sunday, but when it begins Saturday, the break lasts five days, Thursday through Monday.

In another development, Saudi Arabia also urged its Muslim residents to keep an eye out for the rising moon on Thursday evening.
