UAE To Release New Freelance Visa For ‘All Skill Levels’ in 2023
In order to strengthen the freelancer market in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the government has decided to introduce a new visa program for freelancers of all levels. With this permit, people from all over the world can work as freelancers in the UAE.
The launch is expected for the third quarter of 2023. Emiratization and Human Resources Minister Abdulrahman Al Awar said that both high-skilled and low-skilled people can apply for these work permits as long as they follow all the necessary steps.
He also announced that new laws are being drafted that will support flexible and mobile working in the UAE, bringing relief to residents amid skyrocketing inflation.
Job Opportunities
The minister further explained that flexible working has the potential to create around 24,000 jobs. In this way, people from different countries with different skills can work in UAE companies while the jobs are also becoming more diverse.
The minister expressed his support for remote work, saying around 200 people at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) were working remotely. He added that they will introduce a legal framework that encourages remote work.
Federal Employees Work From Home On Fridays
According to recent orders from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, approximately 70% of federal employees will work remotely on Fridays during Ramadan. The same strategy is also being adopted by the country’s schools and universities.
In the United Arab Emirates, Ramadan is scheduled to begin on 23rd March. However, the final dates of the holy month are officially announced by the authorities based on the sighting of the moon.
