Banks Will Start Accepting Hajj Applications From Next Week
The federal government has finally announced the dates for accepting applications for Hajj 2023.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Mufti Abdul Shakoor announced the dates at an official press conference after the Federal Cabinet approved the Hajj Policy 2023.
According to the information, the application process for the Hajj begins on Thursday, March 16, and ends on Friday, March 31. The drawing of applications for the Hajj takes place in the first week of April.
Therefore, interested applicants are required to have the necessary documents ready in advance to avoid any inconvenience.
The minister said the global recession has hit both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Due to the devaluation of the Pakistani rupee, the cost of the Hajj under the government program increased by 3 lac rupees.
The minister added that a sponsorship program has also been approved. Utilizing the full quota of this program will provide $194 million of the $284 million needed for the proper execution of this year’s Hajj program. The Ministry of Finance has assured us that they will cover the remaining costs.
