Tom Jackson’s Cause Of Death
Tom Jackson, one of the makeover show’s most famous former contestants, has died at the age of 63.
When Netflix relaunched the series in 2018, Jackson was the first person the Fabulous Five became.
“It is with a heavy heart,” the Queer Eye cast members said they would say goodbye to a “family member” in a tribute.
According to the obituary released by his undertaker, Jackson had been identified with cancer in the gland, which had metastatic adenocarcinoma.
The show’s fashion expert Tan France commented, “This news is incredibly sad.”
Grooming expert Jonathan Van Ness posted, “RIP Tom,” while interior designer Bobby said he had “a redneck margarita” in Tom’s honor.
The obituary states that Jackson considers his appearance on Queer Eye the “high point of his life” and that he resides in Georgia, USA.
“He enjoyed the attention and shared his experiences [on the show] with anyone who would listen.”
Jackson had a guest appearance in the show’s new season pilot, You Can’t Fix Ugly, which helped set the tone for the new season.
Bravo, a cable television network, aired the first season of the show Queer Eye from 2003 to 2007.
It was brought to life by Netflix with a new cast of makeover experts, each focusing on a different aspect of culture, fashion, personal care, food, or design.
The rebooted show had a slightly different tone than the original. Producers moved the filming location from New York to the American Deep South and began to recruit a wider range of men to take part. Some of the new candidates were more traditional men who may not have intentionally interacted with gay people in the past.
More attention was paid to participants’ physical appearance and general well-being, as well as their mental health.
In his episode, Jackson spoke about his lupus and his love for his ex-wife Abby Parr, with whom he later reconciled.
His family expressed their gratitude to the Kennestone Hospital medical staff for providing “treatment and comfort in his final days.”
The family announced: “We will never forget our beloved Tom. “He made our family happier by adding humor, perseverance, and love. He holds a special place in our hearts and we look forward to seeing him again soon.”
In lieu of flowers, her family has asked that people watch her Queer Eye episode on Netflix in her honor.
