Good News For People Who Have Lost Their Passport or Emirates ID
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has changed immigration regulations, allowing ex-pats to enter the UAE if they have lost their passport, ID card, or both.
To enter the UAE, expatriates must submit an entry application through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) Smart Services Portal.
They must reapply for their lost documents within 3 days of entering the UAE. Those who have lost their Emirates ID should report it to the Customer Happiness Center and then request a replacement through the ICP app or Customer Happiness Center.
If an ex-pat has lost their passport, they can apply for it at the embassy of their country of origin in the United Arab Emirates. It is recommended that you first report the loss of your passport to the police station.
This change in immigration regulations will bring significant relief to ex-pats who previously had difficulty entering the UAE after losing their passport or ID cards.
