PM Relief Fund for Türkiye’s Earthquake Victims Apply Online 2024

The Government of Pakistan [GoP] has notified the establishment of a relief fund, namely the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Türkiye Earthquake Victims, to provide maximum support to the Turkish government and people to deal with the destruction caused by the earthquake.

The Fund accepts donations/contributions from national and international sources for the above purposes. The fund is administered by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), while the Accountant General of Revenue of Pakistan maintains the fund’s accounts.

In this regard, the State Bank of Pakistan has opened the “Prime Minister Türkiye’s Earthquake Relief Fund Account” to collect donations/contributions to the fund.

All commercial and microfinance banks have been instructed to open the Fund’s account and accept donations/contributions in cash through cheques, money orders, and sight orders at all their branches across the country.

Donors have several options to donate to the PM Relief Fund for Türkiye’s Earthquake Victims as detailed below:

Donors From Pakistan

Cash Deposits At Bank Counters:

Donors and contributors can make their donations/contributions to the PM Türkiye’s Earthquake Fund in cash at any branch of any bank operating in Pakistan, which will remit daily the consolidated amount of such donations via RTGS to the Fund’s account at SBP.

Donations/contributions can also be made at any of the local offices of SBP’s Banking Services Corporation in the same manner.

Deposit Of Crossed Checks in The Name Of The Fund in The Bank’s Safe Deposit Boxes:

Donors and donors can make their donations/contributions to Türkiye’s Earthquake Victims Fund by depositing crossed checks in the Fund’s name in their respective bank’s safe deposit box. All banks are required to provide donors with a Dropbox in their selected branches where they can deposit their checks in favor of the fund.

Therefore, the banks must debit the customer’s account and transfer the amount of these products to the SBP via the LBTR on a daily consolidated basis.

Alternative Sales Channels:

The donor can also use other distribution channels, e.g. Internet banking, mobile banking, ATMs, and mobile wallets, etc. to donate/deposit to the fund account via the Interbank Funds Transfer Service (IBFT)/RAAST.

Commercial and microfinance banks are required to prominently display the fund’s IBAN on their websites.

Donors From Abroad

Bank Transfer:

Foreign donors, including overseas Pakistanis, may make donations to the PM Türkiye’s Earthquake Fund by bank transfer to the Fund’s account at their respective banks. They would only advise their respective bank to transfer the donation amount to the fund account by direct debit.

Banks are required to report to SBP daily the consolidated donation amount received in the Fund’s account via the Real Time Gross Settlement (LBTR) system.

Transfer By Money Service Providers, Money Transfer Companies, And Exchange Offices:

Foreign donors can also donate/contribute through Money Service Bureaus (MSBs), Money Transfer Operators (MTOs) (e.g. MoneyGram, Western Union), and Exchange Houses (EHs) by current local remittance receipt arrangements. The banks that receive these installments on the Fund’s account transfer the consolidated amount to SBP daily via LBTR.

The individual donor data, i.e. donor name, contribution amount, payment method, etc., are kept by the banks and made available to SBP when required.

Banks also provide weekly details of individual donors, their contribution amount, and payment method to the NDMA at the email address: dirfin@ndma.gov.pk
