Pakistani Engineers Degrees Are Now Recognized By Washington Accord And They Can Apply For Jobs Worldwide: Senator Rukhsana Zuberi
Now that Pakistan is a permanent member of the Washington Accord, engineering degrees from local higher education institutions are now accepted worldwide. The Washington Accord is an international accreditation agreement that recognizes the references of its signatory countries.
The Pakistan Engineering Council has worked hard to get this membership. In this way, Pakistani engineers worldwide can apply for jobs and further education without any additional qualifications.
Senator Rukhsana Zuberi announced this at the annual dinner hosted by the Department of Chemical Engineering of Karachi University (KU).
Former President of PEC Engr. Rukhsana Zuberi told the audience that all engineers who’re registered with PEC are internationally recognized. She commended the role of PEC in solving the longstanding problem and said that Pakistani doctors are currently facing the same problem. She believes that doctors can solve this problem if they use the same procedure and contact the international body that gives accreditation to doctors.
Other speakers, including Sohail Bashir, Haider Rizvi, and Furqan Ali, informed that a section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers had been established in the Department of Chemical Engineering of the KU and more than 80 students were enrolled. from the newly formed body. This chapter helps students to get internships, hands-on training, and jobs.
