In addition, female workers and female students would receive fare concession cards from the Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA). The department has already distributed free travel tickets for elderly residents and people with disabilities.
- 20 rupees for a trip up to 4 km
- 25 rupees up to 8 km
- 30 rupees up to 12 km
- 35 rupees to 16 km
- 40 rupees from Ali Town to Dera Gujran and vice versa (end-to-end journey)
Speaking to Dawn, a senior official said:
In the first phase, we will introduce distance-based tariffs for the Orange Line. Taking into account our agreements made a few days ago, we wanted to implement it from November 18, but we were unable to do so due to the failure to publish the minutes of Thursday’s meeting.
However, we will implement it as soon as we get the log, which we expect in a day or two. In the 2nd phase, we are preparing discounted and free weekly and monthly tickets. And the cards are given to working women and students who benefit from a 30% discount on fees.
