PTI Moves Supreme Court To FIR Against 3 Suspects Named By Imran Khan After ‘Assassination Attempt’
The former leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has asked the country’s highest court to take the names of three suspects named by party leader Imran Khan after the shooting in Wazirabad.
According to reports in local media, party members have been urged to file an Amparo motion in the Supreme Court today, days after the PTI President named three people behind the attempted arrest and assassination against him during the long march.
Last week, a case was registered under the Murder, Attempted Murder, and Anti-Terrorism Regulations in Wazirabad without Imran Khan’s version being included. Only the attacker was identified as a defendant in the case, and the PTI chairman and other party leaders regretted the first information report.
Former Information Minister and Imran Khan’s close aide, Fawad Chaudhry, also tweeted about it, saying that the party leaders would submit petitions to the respective registers of the Supreme Court.
On 3rd November ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan blamed three people for a shooting attack. In a statement, PTI chief Umar said Khan, who is currently recovering from gunshot wounds, spoke to other leaders recently and said he had advanced intelligence on the attack.
The political provocateur arrested Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and a senior intelligence official for the attack.
