PMC Requested That MDCAT Be Rescheduled Due To A Change in Entry Test Centers

About 21,000 candidates wishing to take the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) have applied to switch test centers, the Standing Committee on Health at the National Assembly said on Thursday, urging the Ministry of Health and the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) to postpone the MDCAT for exam center change or preparation for identical exams for candidates from Islamabad, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Standing Committee on Health met with Dr. Muhammad Afzal Dhandla chaired and recommended convening an upcoming meeting of the Pakistan Medical Council (PMC) to resume the extension of the MDCAT entry test date and to prepare a similar document for KPK, Punjab, and Islamabad.

The Capital Territory candidates, after thousands of candidates, have expressed a desire to change the testing centers they previously mentioned on the PMC web portal.

The committee also recommended setting up more exam centers, and Health Ministry officials said foreign candidates could only take exams physically at established centers in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The committee was informed that the PMC organized the MDCAT 2022 through the public sector universities of all provinces and ICT in a single day and hour. The PMC member reported that the MDCAT exam will be paper-based and will be held on 13th November 2022.

He reported that two centers for foreign students have been set up in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He reported that students residing in other countries would take exams in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan.
