Jacqueline Ama Pokuaa was a Ghanaian woman who was killed in a shooting at Dallas Methodist Medical Center.
The unfortunate incident happened around 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022. The victim, a Ghanaian hospital worker, and another colleague were killed by the gunman, who was confronted by a Methodist Health System police officer.

According to an international media report; ABC News confirmed the incident in a statement that a Methodist Health System police officer “confronted the suspect, shot her, and wounded her.” The suspect was arrested, stabilized, and taken to another local hospital.
A source close to the Ghanaian woman’s family told Ghanaweb that the victim, identified as Jacqueline Ama Pokuaa, is the daughter of a colonel, David Ansah Boakye (Rtd), who lives in Ghana.
According to the source, the father of the deceased is a former officer in the Ghanaian Armed Forces and an elder at the Adventist Church at Camp Burma Garrison in Accra.
The Methodist Health System Police, Dallas Police, and Dallas Fire Rescue responded to the hospital shooting at the time of the 11 a.m. incident.
The suspect, identified as Nestor Hernandez, was reportedly on probation for aggravated robbery and was wearing an active ankle monitor at the time of the shooting, police said.
The suspect is currently facing murder charges.
