COVID-19 Restrictions Eased For International Travelers in Pakistan
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said Friday that passengers on flights to Pakistan will no longer be required to upload their details to the Pass Track app.
He informed all scheduled and charter airlines and ground-handling agencies about the easing of regulations put in place to monitor incoming passengers during the pandemic.
Under the policy, the application is on hold, but the CAA could re-impose the restriction if the number of coronavirus cases picks up again.
Beginning 1st May 2021, the CAA made it mandatory for inbound travelers to upload their details to the app and required airlines to submit the information. The measure was taken with the aim of restricting the transmission of Covid-19 and streamlining passenger data.
Separately, the CAA last month required all international passengers entering or leaving Pakistan to fill out currency declaration forms and hand them to airline staff.
As a result, passengers are now required to declare all types of domestic and foreign currency they are carrying on currency declaration forms, which must be completed prior to check-in for flights.
For inbound flights, airlines are required to make an in-flight announcement to present the relevant statement, in which passengers mention the currency, in accordance with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) regulatory requirements. The forms are distributed by the crew during the flight and deposited at the customs counters in front of the immigration offices.

For one-way flights, airlines must also instruct their employees/travel agents to provide passengers with a copy of the declaration when booking their ticket.
Airline personnel issue boarding passes at the check-in counters only after passengers have made their declarations to them. Airline staff will hand over the forms to customs staff upon completion of the flight along with the passenger list.
The CAA has also set up rooms and counters for the collection of all declaration forms to facilitate passengers and staff.
