Heavy Monsoon Rains Expected in Karachi From July 1st
Karachi is expected to receive heavy rains, 30 percent above normal, during the upcoming monsoon season from the last week of June, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted.
In this regard, Sardar Sarfaraz, chief meteorologist at PMD Karachi, said the rainy season in the provincial capital will start on July 1. The first monsoon episode should last three or four days.
Last week, the PMD forecast that the monsoon weather system would move into the country in the last week of June. According to the 2022 monsoon prospects, Pakistan is likely to receive above-average rainfall in the coming season.
The first monsoon period, which lasts from early July to mid-August, will be wetter than the last phase, which lasts from mid-August to late September.
If you look at the daily weather report, continental air prevails over large parts of the country. Hot and dry weather is expected in most of Pakistan for the next 24 hours.

The past 24 hours have seen hot and dry weather across most of the country. Mithi, Nokkundi, and Chhor recorded the highest temperatures (43 Degrees) on Thursday, while Garhi Dupatta in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Skardu in the UK caught light rain on Thursday.
