Punjab And KP Offer Up To 30% Salary Increase 2022 For Govt Employees
The Punjab government has approved a 30% salary increase for government employees in its budget for the 2022-23 financial year.
The decision was made Monday at a Punjab cabinet meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif.
The meeting also decided to follow the example of the federal government and bring together all ad hoc aid.
Similarly, the government also approved a 15% inequality allowance and a 15% additional salary for employees of certain ministries.
The Punjab cabinet also approved a 15 percent increase in pensions versus the proposed 5 percent increase. The meeting also approved the memorandum of understanding for the free delivery of medicines to cancer patients.
On the other hand, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has also proposed a 15 percent increase in salaries and pensions for all government employees and a 15 percent increase in the employee allowance ad hoc relief allowance in the DRA grant for grades 1 to 19.
At Monday’s budget meeting, CCP Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra said they would not abolish the government employee pension system. Jhagra said the hazard allowance for police officers in grades 7 to 16 has been increased and reduced to the same level as DRA as part of the police martyrdom package.

He also announced the monetization of rental car and transportation policies, the switch from management allowance to performance allowance, working from home on Fridays, and the introduction of fleet cards to save fuel and reduce the risk of theft across departments.
The minister said there has been a 100% increase in pension spending over the past two years, with pension spending, which accounted for just 1% or Rs. 7 percent to 90 billion increased in 2021-22.
