If you want to know the number of SIM cards issued to your CNIC or want to check the number of SIMs registered in your name or CNIC count in any way, read on.

How to Check Which Number is Registered on My CNIC or Name?

Please note that the number of SIM cards you can get with your CNIC number is limited. According to the rules established by the PTA, a single citizen can have a maximum of 5 SIM cards issued in their name at the same time.

If you have already taken 5 SIM cards and registered them with your CNIC and now want to get more, you must first block the SIM card that is not being used in order to maintain the maximum 5 SIM limit.

How can I compare the no. of issued active SIM cards with your CNIC Number?

If you want to know which active SIM cards have been issued for your CNIC, it is important that you get this information as soon as possible.

There are two simple methods to compare SIM cards with CNIC numbers:

Method # 1: How to check SIM on CNIC by Official Website

To know the number of SIMs registered in your CNIC via the official website, here is a short route:

  1. To check the number of SIM cards issued and active under your name, visit the PTA SIM information official website.
  2. By opening the website link you can open a web page where you will be asked to enter your information.
  3. Now enter your CNIC number in the space provided.
  4. Confirm that you are not a robot by checking the box, then click Submit.
  5. A list of SIM cards registered to that particular CNIC is then displayed in tabular form.
  6. The list is ordered by the operator and the total number of SIM cards you have registered in your CNIC.

Method # 2: How to check SIM on CNIC by SMS

To know the number of SIMs registered in your CNIC by SMS, here is a small way:

  1. Open the text messaging app on your mobile phone.
  2. Write your CNIC number without a hyphen.
  3. Now send this message to 668.
  4. You will shortly receive a reply SMS with the total number of active SIM cards for each operator issued in your CNIC number.
  5. For every SMS you send to 668, you will be charged 2 PKR + taxes.

Using the above methods, if you find that the number of SIM cards issued by your CNIC is greater than the current number of SIM cards you actually use, you should contact the operator’s customer service center of the telecom company in question.

How to Block a SIM Card Permanently in Pakistan?

If you want to block a mobile SIM card permanently that you are not using, you are no longer responsible for that number in relation to your CNIC number. You can do this as follows:

  • Visit the affected wireless service provider’s franchise or customer service office nearest you.
  • You will need to show your original CNIC ID Card and fill out a relevant form which will block your required number immediately.
