Queen Releases Platinum Jubilee Portrait With Special Message
Queen has released the official photo for her platinum anniversary celebration.
Taking to Instagram, @theroyalfamily shared a gorgeous portrait of the 96-year-old in a sky blue Windsor Castle dress.
Her Majesty’s aides also included a lengthy note alongside the photo: “Thank you to everyone involved in bringing communities, families, neighbors, and friends together to celebrate my Platinum Jubilee in the UK and across the Commonwealth.”
“I know that these festive occasions will create many fond memories. I remain inspired by the goodwill you have shown me and hope that the coming days will be an opportunity to look back on all that has been achieved over the last seventy years as we look to the future with confidence and enthusiasm look.”

The note continued: “To mark the start of the #PlatinumJubilee celebration weekend, a new portrait of the Queen has been released.”
“Photograph was taken by Ranald Mackechnie on May 25th at Windsor Castle. In the background are the castle’s round tower and the statue of King Charles II which stands in the castle quadrangle.”
