After Kate and William’s visit, Belize takes the first step to impeach the Queen as head of state
Days after Prince William and Kate Middleton’s visit, Belize took the first step to remove Queen Elizabeth as head of state.
There are reports that Belize is planning to become a republic.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on an eight-day visit to the Caribbean on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.

The Belize government has reportedly announced the establishment of the People’s Constitutional Commission, a body of the Department of Political and Constitutional Reform that will conduct “nationwide consultations on the continuation of the decolonization process.”
Kate and William landed on the first leg of their official visit to Belize. They left Belize for Jamaica, arriving in the Bahamas on the final leg of their tour.
