Kirsten Dunst Has Read A Lot About Spider-Man’s Legendary Kiss
Kirsten Dunst opens up about her iconic lip kiss with Tobey Maquire in Spider-Man.
Speaking to W Magazine, the actress admitted she had to do some research before filming the scene.
“[Tobey Maquire] was up to his nose in the water, and then he couldn’t breathe in the Spider-Man suit… and it was really late at night. I wasn’t thinking that way.” She spoke about the cold and rainy situations on set.

He continued, “But the way it was presented to me, [director Sam Raimi] gave me this book of famous kisses, which made me realize how romantic and special Sam wanted it to be,” he explained. “Although that wasn’t necessarily the case with Tobey upside down.”
“It felt like a big kiss,” he added, given the extreme weather conditions that surrounded the couple.
