Who is Andrew Smith? Biography, Wiki
Andrew Smith is the grandfather of Star Hobson, who committed suicide on his mother’s birthday and was responsible for the boy’s death.
Before he committed suicide, Smith sent a card to his daughter Frankie Smith’s jail cell that said, “Take care of yourself and I’ll take care of the baby.”
Andrew Smith’s Age
His current age was 50 years.
The Suicide Of Hobson’s Star Grandfather
The heartbroken father of Star Hobson’s cruelly murdered mother committed suicide on her birthday after sending a card to her cell that said, “Take care of yourself and I’ll take care of the baby.”
In June, Andrew Smith, 50, overdosed on pills as he tried to cope with what his daughter Frankie had done.
Her father Frank, 68, was one of five people who turned to the welfare office about the treatment of the little star.
Frank told The Sun, “He had a print on his baby’s window and he never washed it. He couldn’t take it, so he did it on Frankie’s birthday.”
“He sent a card to jail and wrote, ‘Take care and I’ll take care of the baby.’ It’s devastating.”
“When they found him, Star’s coat was lying next to him. My son did what he did and he was 50 years old, this baby was only a few months old.”
Frank, of Bradford, said Smith swore in a prison letter to his father Andrew that he would commit suicide before killing himself.
He added, “It’s hard to believe and I can’t understand. It broke me. You trust the authorities to do something and they let you down. I understand why people are self-righteous.”
Wife Arrested
A woman whose husband was found strangled was charged with murder.
Andrew Smith’s body was found at his home in Beauvale Gardens in Gunthorpe, Peterborough, around 3:00 p.m. GMT Monday, Cambridgeshire police said.
His wife, Lorraine Smith, was arrested and charged with his murder.
An autopsy done Tuesday at Peterborough City Hospital found that Smith had died of strangulation.
Ms. Smith, also from Beauvale Gardens, was taken into custody in Peterborough Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
