Prince Charles And Duchess Camilla ‘Return On Tour’ In Jordan
Prince Charles and his wife Camilla met with King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan on Tuesday to begin a tour of Jordan and Egypt, the first since the coronavirus pandemic outbreak.
The Crown Prince’s visit to the throne comes at a time when the health of Queen Elizabeth II is of concern.
“Back on tour!” Prince Charles’ personal office at Clarence House shared on Twitter and posted a video of the red carpet saluting and welcoming of the honor guard as they land in Amman.
“A warm welcome to Jordan,” added Clarence House, with a photo of the British heir to the throne and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, meeting King Abdullah and Queen Rania at the palace.
“This year we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of our country and the special relationship with the UK is important to us, so it is a great pleasure for me to welcome you,” said Abdullah, greeting the British couple.

Charles apologized for postponing a planned trip to Jordan last year to stop the spread of Covid-19 but said “the fact that we can come now is very encouraging.”
Later Tuesday, the prince and Camilla visited Al-Maghtas, or Bethany across the Jordan, the place where believers believe Jesus Christ was baptized and stood by the water for a moment of quiet reflection.
