Claudia Resendiz-Florez is an Illinois mother of three who shot a man after he and his girlfriend refused to kiss him, authorities said.
Resendiz-Florez had just moved into the Preserve Woodfield residential complex in Rolling Meadows with James P. Jones, 29, and his girlfriend when a love triangle exploded, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

As per the statement, she called the police at 9:44 p.m. Thursday to report a shooting at The Preserve at the Woodfield Apartment Complex at 4700 Arbor Drive. Police found Jones with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police did not say whether Jones lived in the apartment building or how they knew each other when they did.
Resendiz-Florez also asked Jones’s girlfriend for a kiss, which prosecutors rejected at a bail hearing on Saturday.
Resendiz-Flores asked to kiss her again, which he again refused, which upset her, prosecutors said, according to the Sun-Times.
She then took the gun from Jones, hid it under a pillow in the house, and pointed it at Jones. Prosecutors said Jones tried to lower the gun when he saw her remove the fuse, but he was able to raise his arms and shoot her in the chest, the newspaper reported.

Arrested
Resendiz-Florez was identified and taken into custody as the shooter and allegedly confessed to the shooting.

An attorney for Resendiz-Florez, assistant public defender Courtney Smallwood, argued that her client lived with her family in Des Plaines and not with the couple at the time, the Sun-Times reported.
Judge John F. Lyke Jr. ordered Resendiz-Flores’ arrest without bond. She is expected to appear in court again on Tuesday.
