Loud Music is Illegal
It is forbidden to play loud music in public as it disturbs environmental peace. However, tourists can listen to music indoors or in their car, which is quite normal there.
Approval Before Photographing Anyone
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strict laws to ensure the privacy of its citizens. If a tourist photographs another person without their consent, they may get in trouble.
It is also illegal to take snapshots of military installations, government organizations, and political buildings for security purposes.
Right-Hand Drive And Speed Limit
The United Kingdom (UK), Pakistan, India, and citizens of all left-hand drive countries will have problems in Dubai as vehicles drive on the right-hand side of the road. It is important to be mentally prepared before driving your vehicle on the roads of the United Arab Emirates.
The speed limit on motorways is between 100 and 140 km/h.
Do Not Drink While Driving
It must also be mentioned here that the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai, has zero tolerance for the consumption of alcoholic beverages while driving.
Dress Modestly
The UAE as a whole follows Islamic values and teachings that require modest dress. Therefore, those in liberal democracies are advised to dress modestly in non-revealing clothing, otherwise, they will be looked down upon by locals and other Muslim tourists.
Especially in public places like cafes, transportation, and shopping malls, men should wear a shirt and women should cover their shoulders and knees and not wear anything too tight.
However, tourists are allowed to wear shorts, tops, and bikinis on the beaches and hotel pools as they are declared “international areas” with relaxed laws.
No Kissing Or Hugging in Public
Intimate acts such as kissing or hugging in public are frowned upon in the United Arab Emirates. Therefore, tourists are invited to respect the local culture.
No Swearing
Offensive behavior such as swearing, swearing, fighting, or fighting can result in a prison sentence in the UAE.
Restrictions During Ramadan
Muslims in the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai, fast during the holy month of Ramadan. Therefore, tourists from western countries, the United States, Australia, and other non-Muslim regions may have a hard time as chewing, eating, or drinking objects in public is prohibited.
