WhatsApp has become an easy way for residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to contact government authorities and receive necessary services.
Many federal and local authorities in the United Arab Emirates have verified WhatsApp business accounts and displayed a green icon next to the contact name to indicate it is not fake.
Here are 6 government services available on WhatsApp in the UAE:
Paying For Public Parking in Dubai
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is offering a WhatsApp service that allows residents to pay for parking through the messaging app. To use this service, residents can add +971 58 8009090 to their contact list and send a message in the following format:
(panel number) space (zone number) space (time)
For example, if a resident wants to park their vehicle with the license plate number ABC-123 in parking zone XYZ for 2 hours, they send the message “ABC-123 XYZ 2” via WhatsApp.
Payment can be made from the resident’s mobile phone balance or added to their bill for postpaid numbers, or through the RTA e-wallet account. Once payment is made, residents will receive an SMS confirming their parking ticket.
File A Work Complaint
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emirates (MoHRE) also offers a WhatsApp service. Neighbors can register 600590000 in their contacts to file work grievances. This service is available 24/7 in Arabic and English.
Request A Birth Certificate
Residents can WhatsApp the Department of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) at +971 42301221 to request the birth certificate.
Make An Appointment With The Doctor in Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH) can be contacted via WhatsApp at +971 600 50 2000 and citizens can make medical appointments from their homes.
Report A Crime in Dubai
Citizens of Dubai can immediately report a crime to Dubai Police via WhatsApp at +971 800 4888. The victim can share all the details of the crime without hesitation.
Renew Vehicle Registration in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi residents can renew their vehicle registration through the Abu Dhabi Police Department WhatsApp service at +971 600 500009.
