55% Of Workers in The UAE Expect To Lose Their Job Soon
According to a recent survey, more than half of workers in the United Arab Emirates fear losing their jobs to robots or AI in the next 10 years. Young people are particularly concerned about how technology will affect their career prospects.
The study was conducted by communications companies Duke+mir and YouGov. 1,000 people took part. The study found that 55% of respondents fear their roles will be replaced by AI or robots by 2033.
24% of respondents weren’t sure, while 21% weren’t worried about the technology replacing their features. 60% of survey respondents expressed concern about their roles being replaced by AI and robots, compared to 45% of western ex-pats who share the same concern.
The survey found that 66% of people under 25 fear AI and robots will take over their jobs in the next decade, compared to 57% of people aged 25-44 and just 43% of people over 45 same concern.
Remember that the UAE government is investing in ambitious plans to transform the country into a global AI hub, including education and training for the growth of advanced technologies.
Commenting on the study, Jonathan Ivan-Duke, co-founder and partner of duke+mir, said that given the UAE government’s focus on protecting and creating jobs for Emiratis now and in the future, it is surprising that the young people and the Emiratis are most concerned. the impact of future technological advances on their employment prospects.
Although the UAE is known as a forward-thinking nation when it comes to innovation, citizens and residents are wary of new technology replacing their jobs, Ivan-Duke added.
